April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. As a behavioral health center serving individuals and families in nine locations within northwest Iowa, we are making it our priority to raise awareness of child abuse through our END IT! for Autumn Campaign this April.

In 2016 alone, 322 children in our nine-county area were confirmed to have suffered abuse, with 934 children reported for cases of child neglect or abuse. Forty-seven percent of confirmed cases were children ages 5 and younger. The number of confirmed children abused state-wide is 8,890, with over 31,000 children reported throughout the state of Iowa.

Stand with us now and end child abuse. Our goal is to prevent child abuse from happening now and into the future. Let’s END IT! for Autumn and all the other children who have suffered or are currently suffering.
